Topic 2 :- Set Up Your "Seller Account"

In addition to registering on eBay ( see Topic 1 ), to sell on eBay, you have to obtain a separate Seller's Account that :-

  • Verifies your registration information
  • Identifies who you are through one of your financial accounts
  • Determines how you will pay eBay for the various selling fees you will incur

Before you start the online process, gather the credit or debit card and current account numbers you want to associae with your seller's account.

Click "SELL" on the menu bar at the top of any eBay Sg.page. You will see : "Sell your item worldwide, Here is how to do it". Click at "Seller's Account", system will prompts you to eBay USA page and asking you to enter your User ID and password.

If you have not yet register with eBay, please go to Topic I and following the instruction, otherwise enter your user ID and password, click at "Secure Sign In", that will bring you to "Create A Seller's Account" page.

On the "Create Seller's Account" page, It is divided into three separate steps.
In step one, you enter a credit or debit card number and billing address as well as a bank name and account number, click "CONTINUE".

In step two, you will ask to select your preferred method for paying eBay seller fees: (A) Through eBay Direct Pay or (B) with your credit card.Click "CONTINUE"

eBay won't take any money from your account unless yu tell them to do so. The information at this point is to strengthen the extra precaution, probably as a result of recent selling activity on eBay using stolen credit card numbers.

In Step two, please remember to click at the button "Authorize Credit Card".
this is the page of "Credit Card Storage Agreement "which you need to read thru eBay term and condition, and its ask you to place your credit card on file, you need to click at " Authorize Credit Card" button, once you click that button, eBay will email you AS:-

"Credit card successfully Placed on File, Your card has successfully been
placed on file. Your monthly eBay seller fees will be automatically charged
to this card. You may also use this card for payments you initiate."

In step three, follow the instructions from here to finish creating your eBay Seller's Account.

Now try it yourself by follow the steps below to confirm that your credit/debit card has been successfully placed on file with eBay:-

  • Click at "My eBay" Menu Bar at eBay USA page and enter your user ID and password
  • click on "personal information" under "My account" heading on your left
  • look at "Financial Information" heading, your last 4 digit numbers on your credit card should be there, as well as your card's expiration date.

If you don't see it, you have to go back and repeat the Step 2 again
