Can I Use Multiple eBay Account ?

After posted my yesterday blog, One person called me : "Ben, Can I Use Multiple eBay Account ? "

The answer is YES, you can do so !

Some buyers and sellers use more than one User ID and password. They have each account set aside for different purposes. eBay buyers and sellers set up two different accounts for a variety of reasons:-

  • One account might be for selling, the other for buying.
  • One might be for selling on behalf of one's office, the other for selling as an individual.
  • One account might have funds deducted from a credit card, the other from a bank account.
  • One account might be for you, the other for your spouse.

The options are up to you. If you want to set up multiple eBay account, you have to use different e-mail addresses and User ID for each one.

Please take note that it's important to use your real, legitimate name and address when you establish your second eBay account. If the address can't be verified with your credit/debit card, you won't be to sell using that account.

Can I Register On eBay Under My Company's Name ?

Yesterday, A friend of mine asked me this question:" CAN I Register On eBay With Company's Credit Card And Its Name ? "

Yes, you can use your company credit card to register another account. But, please be assured that the information on credit card like billing information and registration information, should match the one we have on file.

Please know that you can have multiple eBay accounts. However, all accounts will need a different User ID and email address. Many members find that they need two accounts if they sell/buy different types of items to keep things organized.

To create another account, just follow the same steps you did to create your account. Or, to learn more about Registration, please click the following URL:

Registration Overview

Here, please remember that the two accounts can *never* be involved in the same auction, nor can they be involved with each other's member profiles.

Topic 2 :- Set Up Your "Seller Account"

In addition to registering on eBay ( see Topic 1 ), to sell on eBay, you have to obtain a separate Seller's Account that :-

  • Verifies your registration information
  • Identifies who you are through one of your financial accounts
  • Determines how you will pay eBay for the various selling fees you will incur

Before you start the online process, gather the credit or debit card and current account numbers you want to associae with your seller's account.

Click "SELL" on the menu bar at the top of any eBay Sg.page. You will see : "Sell your item worldwide, Here is how to do it". Click at "Seller's Account", system will prompts you to eBay USA page and asking you to enter your User ID and password.

If you have not yet register with eBay, please go to Topic I and following the instruction, otherwise enter your user ID and password, click at "Secure Sign In", that will bring you to "Create A Seller's Account" page.

On the "Create Seller's Account" page, It is divided into three separate steps.
In step one, you enter a credit or debit card number and billing address as well as a bank name and account number, click "CONTINUE".

In step two, you will ask to select your preferred method for paying eBay seller fees: (A) Through eBay Direct Pay or (B) with your credit card.Click "CONTINUE"

eBay won't take any money from your account unless yu tell them to do so. The information at this point is to strengthen the extra precaution, probably as a result of recent selling activity on eBay using stolen credit card numbers.

In Step two, please remember to click at the button "Authorize Credit Card".
this is the page of "Credit Card Storage Agreement "which you need to read thru eBay term and condition, and its ask you to place your credit card on file, you need to click at " Authorize Credit Card" button, once you click that button, eBay will email you AS:-

"Credit card successfully Placed on File, Your card has successfully been
placed on file. Your monthly eBay seller fees will be automatically charged
to this card. You may also use this card for payments you initiate."

In step three, follow the instructions from here to finish creating your eBay Seller's Account.

Now try it yourself by follow the steps below to confirm that your credit/debit card has been successfully placed on file with eBay:-

  • Click at "My eBay" Menu Bar at eBay USA page and enter your user ID and password
  • click on "personal information" under "My account" heading on your left
  • look at "Financial Information" heading, your last 4 digit numbers on your credit card should be there, as well as your card's expiration date.

If you don't see it, you have to go back and repeat the Step 2 again

Topic 1:-Register With eBay Singapore

Before you can buy or sell any items on eBay, you'll have to register first. It's a free process that takes only a couple of minutes.

To begin setting up your account, click the Register icon at the top of eBay's Home page (www.obay.com.sg). If you are registered at USA page ( www. ebay.com), you have to click at "Country" checkBox and select Singapore, since your banking account are located in Singapore. Next, enter your personal information, your name, address, contact number, and date of birth ( You need to be 18 years old to register with eBay), email address etc.

Next, Read through the user agreement and privacy policy, click the checkbox that indicates you agree with eBay's condition, and then click Continue.

The next page prompts you to create a username that will identify you to other eBay users. You can choose an ID generated by eBay, or you can create your own.

User IDs on eBay must be at least two characters long and can contain both letters and numbers. You can't have any spaces in your ID , but you can have underscores. There are some symbols that can't use :- (&, @, <, >). You also can't have the word "eBay" in the name, and your ID can't be the same as another user's. You may have to try once or twice to get an acceptable user ID, so be creative with name the reflect your trade as seller.

Then you need to enter and confirm a password that's at least six characters long.

You'll also be prompted to provide the answer to a secret question (such as your mother's maiden name) to help you identify yourself later, in case you forgt your password.

If you use an anonymous account similar to those you can create at Hotmail or Yahoo, eBay prompts you to confirm your email address. You can confirm your identity using a credit card (which won't be charged ) or by entering another email address that's linked to a less anonymous system for example, your work email account.

Once the system accepts your second email address, it will send a confirmation message to you. Click the Complete eBay Registration button, which directs you to eBay's site, and you'll see a message indicates that you account is activated and ready to use !
